This is a short note with regards to the airbags fitted to the 2014 Toyota Prado GXL. The reason for fitting the airbags was for towing a caravan with a weight of 2415 kg.
The Prado has been on a few trips and the last trip prior to fitting the airbags was about 3500 km. The rear of the Prado started to sag and became dangerous to drive as.
The drop was less than 100 mm but it made the ride uncomfortable and dangerous. Once the airbags were fitted it made a big difference to how the caravan towed and how the Prado handled.
Overall I am very happy on how the airbags perform and the difference it makes towing the caravan. The simplicity of the airbags system to fill before we tow and reducing the pressure when the caravan is not fitted.
